Iceberg Ahead!

A few weeks ago I went to see the Titanic exhibit at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences with some of my gal pals.  It was a rainy/ dreary day so of course it was a great day to go to the museum!  Turns out, everyone had the same idea to go to the museum as we did.

Before we entered the exhibit we were given a boarding pass (which had the bio of an actual passenger on the Titanic)… here’s what my pass looked like:

It was truly an amazing exhibit filled with unusual artifacts and stories of passengers that were aboard the Titanic.  I highly recommend seeing this exhibit before it leaves Raleigh… you have until April 28th to get your tail to the museum and get some culture!

P.S. In case you were wondering, I survived!

First Friday: March Edition

I LOVE First Friday. If you’ve never ventured out in downtown Raleigh to attend First Friday, you’re missing out. Every first Friday of the month, downtown Raleigh showcases art, jewelry, apparel and anything else you can think of.

This past Friday was epic.

My friends and I ventured to Chuck’s for dinner (it was my first time there and it was amaze-balls).  That was the first burger I’ve completely demolished. Seriously. The menu may look a little intimidating, but don’t worry they can make a burger however you’d like. I have a feeling I’ll be back there soon.

There were vendors lined up right outside of The Raleigh Times selling shirts, jewelry, koozies, art prints, and the list goes on. My best purchase of the week came from House of Swank Clothing where I picked up 2 awesomely clever koozies.

First Friday is a great opportunity to support local businesses, so y’all better mark your calendar for the next one on April 5th!

My Bucket List of Bands

It’s Showtime!

I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited about some of the shows coming to town this year. I just bought pre-sale tickets to see Fun. at Red Hat Amphitheater and Band of Horses at the Ritz in May.  I also learned that The Postal Service will be coming to town this summer too. The things I find out on Twitter is enough for me to spazz out at work.

I have a wish list of shows I’m itching to see and my fingers and toes will be crossed until they come to town.

Ok Raleigh… you’ve heard my requests, now let’s make this happen!

xoxo

Bonjour!!

Finally! My blog is up & running… for the most part. WordPress is all new to me & why not start off 2013 by teaching myself how to use it without buying one of those “WordPress For Dummies” books.

After a couple requests from a few friends, I decided to start my own blog. The main feature of my blog will be about all my favorite places here in Raleigh as well as new discoveries.  I’m not big into chain restaurants or big box shops, I like to root for the underdog and the hidden gems. Ok… I’ll admit it, Bojangles is my one exception when it comes to chains, but I’m sure many of you will agree with me!

I also plan to share my personal stories along the way as well. It takes a lot to embarass me so what better way to share my awkwardness through a blog! Maybe The Bachelor will get their hands on this and finally cast me as the 5ft witty gal that is a part-time klutz. *Fingers crossed!*

Thank you to everyone for your support!

P.S. I’d like to give a special shout out to my pal, Heather Albertson for creating my fabulous logo! She’s a very talented gal, so please be sure to check out her website (Heather A Design) if you’re looking for a great graphic designer.
